New G Shock due in March

Two new Casio large face G Shock models will be launched in the UK this March. GA-100-1A4ER and GA-100-1A1ER. The display has three upper dials, with a split digital readout below. The overall appearance is that of an aviation cockpit.

There is a 1/100oth second stopwatch and ‘Speed Metre’ (Velocity indicator) World time for 48 cities (29 time zones) and co-ordinated universal time; Countdown timer, 5 Independent daily alarms, LED light with auto light switch. You can also select the duration of the illumination ( 1.5 to 3 seconds).

We are already taking pre-orders for both models so get in touch via the site . Casio’s price guide will be £85. There are two other models in the series in white and in yellow but not released for general sale in the UK.

G Shock GW-2500BD - The best yet!

Undoubtedly the best of the G Shock GW-2500 series so far. The GW-2500BD, combines Multi-band 6 radio controlled timing for USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Japan and China, with an analogue / digital display and a matt black/ gunmetal bracelet. Although this is not Titanium, it is still fairly light and gives an overall weight of approximately 135 grammes. The watch comes with all the G Shock attributes, but check out the features by downloading the manual from Casio’s web site.

We were asked by a couple of G Shock enthusiasts if the Aviator ‘BD’ bracelet could be fitted to the GW-2000 or the GW-2000B, standard resin strap versions in the series. The black matt insert piece, pictured below with the screws & collar spacers, allow you to fit the GW-2000BD bracelet.

The guide shows how to clip the insert into place (Figs 2&3). Once fitted, the bracelet can be attached using the screws & rods provided, making sure to fit a collar spacer (Fig 5) on either side.

Give your G Shock GIEZ a complete facelift

New addition to our G Shock spares section is the GIEZ re-furb kit, suitable for GS-300, GS-1100 series. The kit comes complete with a two piece bezel, GIEZ resin watch strap and new fitting screws. GW-6900-1 - Casio G Shock classic, with today’s technology

Casio have recently launched the new Solar GW-6900, which combines multi region waveceptor capability within a retro-look 6900 series body kit; A design that has always been a massive favourite with G Shock collectors from all over the globe.

Signal reception is throughout the USA, much of Canada, the UK, Mainland Europe, Japan and China; The watch receives auto timing signals six times a day (five in China) and has the typical G Shock features of world time, multi alarms, stopwatch, countdown timer, with 200 mtrs water resistance completing the specification.

Setting your Home City is so simple; Press and hold the ‘A’ button, scroll through the pre-set city codes, select and then exit. The other set-up routines are just as easy.

The watch is about to have an Autumn launch in Europe and the early signs are, that demand will be staggering. Casio will also make the GW-6900BC version, which will feature the super comfortable, metal / resin BC combination bracelet that is now a much adopted accessory with many G Shock collectors.

Casio’s price guide for the USA is circa $200 for the 6900 and $245 for the 6900BC. The UK price guide is £95.00 for 6900 and will be available from www.tiktox.com
